California’s twelfth congressional district consists of the Southwest of the bay area, centered in the city of San Francisco. The district has been consistently democratic since the nineties. The race is between Democratic incumbent Nancy Pelosi, the incumbent since 1987, and Republican challenger Lisa Remmer. In 2016 Obama won 91% of the vote and Democrats won 81% of the vote in the primary. In 2012 Obama won 87% of the vote. California 12 is 44% White and 33% Asian.
