California’s 24th district covers Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties and the Los Padres National Forest in Ventura County. It is represented by Democrat Salud Carbajal, who is in his first term as a Congressman. He is a Marine veteran and Mexican immigrant. He is being challenged by Republican Justin Fareed, a family businessman and former Congressional staffer. In this district, Obama received 55.7% of the two-party vote in 2012, the Democratic House candidate received 52.0% of the two-party vote in 2014, Clinton received 60.6% of the two-party vote in 2015, and Carbajal received 53.4% of the two-party vote in 2016.
