California’s 25th district covers parts of northern Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Also includes the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster, and part of Los Angeles. It is the most Republican district covering part of Los Angeles. It has been represented by Republican Steve Knight since 2015; he previously served in the State Assembly from 2008 to 2012 and the State Senate from 2012 to 2015. He is an Army veteran and former police officer in Los Angeles. He is being challenged by Democrat Katie Hill, the former Executive Director of the non-profit People Assisting the Homeless. In this district, Obama received 49.0% of the two-party vote in 2012, the Democratic House candidate received 32.5% of the two-party vote in 2014, Clinton received 51.1% of the two-party vote in 2015, and the Democratic House candidate received 46.9% of the two-party vote in 2016.
