Based in the Inland Empire, the metropolitan area in Southern California. Includes the communities of Chino, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, and Pomona. CA-35 has been represented by Democrat Norma Torres since 2015. Prior to her time in office, Torres worked as a 911 dispatcher for the Los Angeles Police Department. She also served as the Mayor of Pomona, and was a member of the Pomona City Council. For the upcoming midterm election, Torres is being challenged by Republican Christian Valiente, who served in the US Army from 2002-2010 as a parachute rigger. In 2012, He started his own janitorial company and created his own shaving cream line. In this district, Obama won 68.78% of the two-party vote in 2012, Torres won 63.5% of the two-party vote in 2014, and Clinton won 71.56% of the two-party vote and Torres won 72.4% of the two-party vote in 2016.
