Connecticut’s third congressional district contains the southern portion of Hartford south through to the coast of the Long Island Sound. The total population is 716,547, the median age is 39.4, the population is 72.85% white, and the unemployment rate is 6.9%. The median and mean household incomes are $69,178 and $91,532 respectively. The district has been in Democratic hands for the past two decades and Incumbent Rosa DeLauro has held her seat since 1990. DeLauro, who earned 69% of the vote share in 2016, is running for reelection against Republican Angel Cadina. Our fundamentals model predicts Democrats will win this district.
