This district is totally contained within western Orange County. It is more than 98% urban, including major parts of Orlando. The Cook Rating is D+11, though it was considered a swing district before the recent redistricting in 2013; all congressional races since have gone been won by Democrats and all of those prior have been won by Republicans.

The incumbent is Democrat Val Demings (D), the former Orlando Police Chief, who was elected to Congress in 2016. She is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and a strong proponent of gun control. She is running unopposed and is thus guaranteed reelection.
