This is one of the most heavily Democratic districts in Florida based on its Cook rating of D+34. Obama won with 86.04% of the vote in 2012 and Hillary won with 84.33% of the vote in 2016. It is located in Southeastern Florida and includes part of Miami-Dade County. This district is 37.7% white, 56.2% black, and 29.5% Hispanic. The Democratic incumbent, Frederica Wilson, ran uncontested in the last congressional election and she won nearly 90% of the vote in 2014. Her first election after redistricting was in November 2012 and she ran unopposed as well. Her signature cowboy hat makes her a stand-out Democratic candidate. She is currently running unopposed.
