This district is made up of portions of the Everglades and west Miami. The population is 85.2% white and 70.4% Hispanic, thanks to its significant Cuban population. The Republican incumbent, Mario Diaz-Balart was redistricted from Florida 21 and won his first election in District 25 in November 2012. He supports restoring the Everglades and funding for school safety and mental health resources. His Democratic opponent is Mary Barzee Flores. She was born in Miami and grew up in Little Habana. Her priorities include criminal justice reform, gun control, and opposing Trump’s immigration policies. Obama received 45.17% of the vote in Hillary received 49.08% of the vote.
