Georgia’s tenth congressional district is located along Georgia’s northeastern border with South Carolina. Much of the district is rural, but there are many small and large towns located along the I-20 corridor that cuts through the middle of the district. The population of 741,464 (as of 2016) is almost 70% white. The district has been solidly Republican despite redistricting in 2011. Incumbent Jody Hice ran unopposed in her previous election and won her first election in 2014 with over about 66% of the vote. This year she is running against Democrat Tabitha Johnson-Green, but the district is expected to remain solidly Republican.
