Georgia’s fourth congressional district is a geographically small district in the Atlanta metropolitan area, containing many of Atlanta’s eastern suburbs. The population of 752,273 (as of 2016) is nearly 60% black, making this a minority-majority district. The district has remained solidly Democrat, as incumbent Hank Johnson has won every election since 2000 with at least 60% of the vote, twice running unopposed this decade. He is being opposed by Republican Joe Profit. The district is expected to remain solidly Democrat.
