District Profile Last Updated: Oct. 5, 2018, 11:47 a.m.

Georgia’s seventh congressional district is a moderately sized district located several miles to the northeast of the Atlanta metropolitan area, although still mostly containing suburbs. The population of 789,864 (as of 2016) is almost 46% white. The district has been solidly Republican, but some projections show this year’s race to be notably closer than previous, although still favoring Republican incumbent Rob Woodall. Woodall has won every election since 2010 with over 60% of the vote, but some estimate a much closer margin against Democrat Carolyn Bourdeaux. The district has been expected to lean Republican but there is significant potential for turnover.
