Louisiana’s fifth congressional district covers the northeastern and central area of the state, including the cities of Monroe and Alexandria.  It’s 48% urban and 51% rural with a population of $748,306. 62% of the population is white and 34% is black, with the median income residing at $36,718.The candidates are Jessee Carlton Fleenor (D) and Ralph Abraham (R).
