Mississippi’s first congressional district is located in the northeast corner of the state. The district has voted Republican for its last two elections. It also backed Donald Trump (R) in 2016 after voting for Obama (D) in 2008 and 2012. The candidates running are incumbent Trent Kelly (R) and Randy Wadkins (D). Kelly was previously a prosecutor for Tupelo, MS, and recently held the position of district attorney from 2012 to 2015.
