Mississippi’s second congressional district covers the western part of the state and borders the Mississippi River. The district has voted for Democrat Bennie Thompson since 1992. Thompson is the incumbent this year as well, running with no opposing Republican candidate. He has previously served on the Board of Aldermen and as the Mayor of Bolton, MS.
