Mississippi’s third district is located in the center of the state and stretches from the Louisiana border to the Alabama border. The district has voted Republican for its last two candidates from 1996 to the present. The district population is 64.2% White, 33.3% Black, 0.6% Asian, 1.2% Hispanic, and 0.9% Native American.

Michael Evans (D) and Michael Guest (R) are running for this election. Guest serves as the VP of Mississippi’s Prosecutor Foundation, President of the Foundation for Rankin County Public Schools, and as a board member of the Mississippi Crime Stoppers and Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers. Evans has worked as a battalion chief with the Philadelphia, MS Fire Department.
