Nevada’s 1st congressional district is entirely urban and majority minority since the 2010 census, with only over 30% of the population being white. In fact, there has only been one republican representative since the district was founded in 1980. The district contains Las Vegas, parts of North Las Vegas, and Clark County. The district is solidly democratic, and has voted for the democratic presidential candidate by over 60% for the last three elections. For the 2018 house race, the incumbent is democrat Dina Titus, who has held the seat since 2013, has served for 4 terms, and won by over 33 points in 2016. Her opponent is republican Joyce Bentley, who has never held elected office.
