District Profile Last Updated: Oct. 5, 2018, 11:47 a.m.

Nevada’s 4th congressional district, which is quite new, was created following the 2010 census, and is located near the center of Nevada. It contains Clark County (where about 90% on the population of the district presides), Lyon, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Mineral, Nye, and White Pine Counties. The district voted for both Obama in 2012 and Clinton in 2016. The 2018 house race is a rematch of the 2014 election. There is no incumbent, as representative Ruben Kihuen (D) is retiring. The democratic candidate is Steven A. Horsford, who was the district’s very first representative when he was elected in 2012. His opponent is republican Cresent Hardy, who was the district’s second representative when he was elected in 2014 and succeeded Steven A. Horsford.
