New Jersey 11 is located in the northern part of the state, and its population is 88% White, 3% Black, 6% Asian, and 7% Hispanic. Since the 1990s, Republicans have won this district every time. This year, neither of the candidates are incumbents. In this election, Jay Webber (R) faces Mikie Sherrill (D). Jay Webber represents the 26th legislative district in the New Jersey General Assembly. He was also nominated by Chris Christie to be the chairman of the New Jersey Republican State Committee. Mikie Sherill graduated from the US Naval Academy and for a while was a Navy helicopter pilot. In 2003, received a master's degree in economic history from the London School of Economics and by 2007, she earned a juris doctor law degree from Georgetown Law.
