New Mexico’s second congressional district includes all of southern New Mexico and a southern part of Albuquerque. Republican Yvette Herrell and Democrat Xochitl Torres Small are running for the open seat. Herrell wants to shrink the size of government and grow free markets. Torres is fighting to protect public land and make life better for the lower class. The seat has gone to a Republican in the last 4 elections. In the 2016 presidential election 55.6% of the two-party vote went to Trump.
