New York District 22 encompasses a large area in the center of the state and includes the cities Rome, Oneida, Binghamton, and Utica. It is bordered on the northeast by the Adirondack Mountains. The district is 90.9% White, 3.4% Black, 2.3% Asian, and 3.2% Hispanic. Democratic candidate, assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, is running against Republican incumbent Claudia Tenney. 49.8% of District 22 voted Democratic in the 2012 Presidential Election and 41.76% Democratic in the 2016 Presidential Election.
