New York’s 4th district is located in central and southern Nassau County and is 53% white, 21% Hispanic, and 15% African American. The Democratic candidate is incumbent Kathleen Rice. She has held the district since 2014. The Republican candidate is Ameer Benno, a lawyer. Historically, the district has voted Democratic in every single congressional and presidential election in the 21st century. Kathleen rice won the 2014 election with a narrow 51.2% of the vote, but won in 2016 with a solid 59.6% of the vote.
