North Carolina’s fourth congressional district includes approximately two-thirds of the state’s capital Raleigh, and also covers the cities of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. 47.63% of the district’s population identifies as non-Hispanic white, 54.5% of the population hold at least a bachelor’s degree, and the median household income is $70,587. The district has consistently voted for the Democratic candidate in both presidential and congressional elections since 1996. Democratic incumbent and long-time politician David Price is running against Republican candidate Steve Von Loor, a businessman and interpreter.
