After Republican incumbent Kevin Cramer did not seek re-election, Republican Kelly Armstrong won the Republican primary and will run against Democratic former State Senator, Mac Schneider in the general election. This solidly Republican district voted 39.86% Republican in the 2012 presidential election and 30.17% Democratic in the 2016 presidential election.
