Ohio’s 14th district is located in the farthest northeast corner of the state and is bordered by Lake Erie and Pennsylvania. It includes the entirety of Ashtabula, Lake, and Geauga Counties, as wells as parts of Cuyahoga, Trumbull County, Portage County, and Summit County. While the district voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012 in the Presidential elections, it voted for Donald Trump in 2016. It had consistently voted for a Republican representative; since 2012, David Joyce ® has won with over 50% of the vote. Betsy Rader (D) is running against David Joyce (R). Rader was born in Coshocton, Ohio and attended the Ohio State University and later Yale Law School. She worked as Senior Counsel at the Cleveland Clinic and was a board member for Cleveland Legal Aid. David Joyce was born in Cleveland, Ohio and attended the University of Bayton for both his Bachelor of Science and his Juris Doctor. He worked as a prosecutor for Geauga County before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012.
