Ohio’s 16th congress is located in the northeastern part of the state. It includes Stark County, the Cantor area, and parts of Wayne, Medina, and Ashland counties. The district typically votes Republican; the only time it’s has a Democratic Representative in the last 50 years was when it elected John Boccieri in 2008. Susan Moran Palmer (D) is running against Anthony Gonzalez (R). Palmer was raised in the Youngstown area and received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace University. She has worked as a healthcare provider, medical saleswoman, and member on the Board and Legacy Council of Providence House. Gonzalez was born in Cleveland and received his BA from the Ohio State University and his MBA from Stanford University. He used to play as a football wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts.
