Ohio District 8 is mostly urban(77.95%) and almost entirely white(88.68%). It has been represented by a Republican since 1939. It is noted that the previous two representatives, Buz Lukens and John Boehner, resigned from office. The Republican candidate Warren Davidson, is an incumbent who has held office since 2016. The Democratic candidate is Dr. Vanessa Enoch, a public policy and business consultant. In the 2016 Congressional election, Warren Davidson won 72% of the two-party vote in this district. In the 2016 Presidential election, Donald Trump won 68% of the two-party vote in this district.
