Oklahoma’s fourth congressional district is located in the southern central part of the state. It is 63.29% urban with a population of 785,424. 79.7% of the population is white, with  a median income of $35,510.


Historically, Oklahoma’s fourth district has voted strictly Republican since the late 20th century until present, including the 2016 election. The district is not a swing district.


The democratic challenger is candidate Mary Brannon, an educator and school counselor with a military family. Her key positions include maintaining veterans’ programs, protecting Medicare, and strengthening education. The republican incumbent is Tom Cole, who has served eight terms and advocates for a strong national defense, helping taxpayers and small businesses, and works with Native Americans and tribal governments.
