Pennsylvania’s new 12th congressional district contains a number of small towns that lean Republican such as Mansfield, Towanda, and Lewistown, Williamsport which is a city that also leans Republican, and State College which contains Pennsylvania State University and a number of Democratic voters. Approximately 60% of the population lives in rural areas. It is similar to the old district 10 geographically and almost identical politically.
