Pennsylvania’s new 7th congressional district encompasses parts of northeast area of the state, including most of the cities of Allentown and Easton, and the surrounding rural areas. It is most similar to the old pre-redistricting district 15, which voted for Trump by 8 points in 2016. The residents of the new district, however, voted more democratic, favoring Clinton by 1 point. The incumbent of the old 15th district, Republican Charlie Dent, chose not to run for re-election. Democratic nominee Susan Wild, an attorney, is running against the Republican nominee Marty Nothstein, a former olympic cyclist. There is also a Libertarian candidate, TV reporter Tim Silfies.
