Texas’ 24th congressional district comprises the area between Fort Worth and Dallas. It is 99.89% urban, 48.89% white, and 24.83% hispanic. The Republican incumbent, Kenny Marchant, has been in office since 2005. He has won reelection by over 10% of a vote lead in every election since 2004. He was previously the mayor of Carrollton and served on the Texas House. The Democratic challenger, Jan McDowell, who has worked as a certified public accountant. The district has consistently voted for Republican presidential nominees since 2000.
