Texas’ 25th congressional district spans the area between Fort Worth and Austin. It is 67.47% urban, 69.92% white, and 19.4% hispanic. The Republican incumbent, Roger Williams, has been in office since 2013, served as the Secretary of State of Texas under Rick Perry. He has won reelection with 60.2% of the vote share in the 2014 election and 58.3% of the vote share in the 2016 election. The Democratic challenger, Julie Oliver, has worked on the board of Central Health in the Austin City Council. Since its redistricting in 2011, the district has voted for Republican presidential nominees.
