Texas’ 26th congressional district comprises the northern portion of Dallas-Fort Worth. It is 93.4% urban, 67.99% white, and 18.4% hispanic. The Republican incumbent, Michael Burgess, has been in office since 2003, and is a Tea Party Caucus member. He has won reelection by a 20% or greater vote share lead in every election since 2004. The Democratic challenger, Linsey Fagan, who started her own technology consulting business. The district has consistently voted for Republican presidential nominees since 2000.
