Texas’ 33rd congressional district is a concave strip in North Eastern Texas. It is 99.98% urban, 14.62% white, and 66.9% hispanic. The Democratic incumbent, Marc Veasey, has been in office since 2013, and served as the Chair Pro Tempore of the Texas House of Representatives Democratic Caucus. The Republican challenger, Willie Billups, served in the U.S. Army and Marine Corps and holds a bachelor's degree in Aeronautics. In the 2012 Presidential election, Obama won 72.65% of the district's two party vote. 2014 the House Democratic candidate ran unopposed. In the 2016 Presidential election Clinton won 75.47% of the two party vote. 2016's House race the Democratic candidate won 73.7% of the two party vote.
