Texas’ 8th congressional district lies to the north of Houston, towards the southeast of the state. It is 68% urban, 66% white, and 22% hispanic. The Republican incumbent, Kevin Brady, has been in office since 1997 and is chair of the house ways and means committee. He ran unopposed in 2016 and 2014. His opponent, Democrat Steven David, works for the city of Houston and has never held elected office. We have not found any polls for this district.
