District Profile Last Updated: Oct. 5, 2018, 11:47 a.m.

Utah’s first district covers the northern part of the state, including Ogden, Logan, and Layton. Republican incumbent Rob Bishop has served the district since 2003 and is Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee. His challenger Lee Castillo is a political novice, having never served in public office prior to this race. In 2014 and 2016, Bishop won comfortably with over 60% of the vote; current polling shows a similar number this election.
